How to find the Computer Officers¶
We’ve moved. Again. Huzzah.
Introduction¶
This document describes how to contact the Computer Officers. You can always obtain the latest version of this document from: http://www.arch.cam.ac.uk/comp/ac011/
The Computer Officers are Ian Hitchman and David Redhouse. They can be contacted by email at computer-support@arch.cam.ac.uk. They live in Room 42 in the Department of Biological Anthropology in the Old Metallurgy Building on Pembroke Street. Do not confuse this with LCHES.
If the instructions below fill you with foreboding, our ICBM co-ordinates are 52? 12.163’ N, 0? 7.172’E at 26m elevation (recorded wrt WGS84, ?25m). Punch them up on your handheld GPS now.
You can reach the office between 0900 and 1700, Monday–Friday, in the following manner (you should probably make an appointment and bring a mobile `phone with you):
Find the Heycock Wing/Haycock Wing/Old Metallurgy Building/Department of Biological Anthropology on Pembroke Street.
Enter the Old Metallurgy Building via the Pembroke Street entrance. This door is open 0800-1700, Monday-Friday.
Ascend the stairs to Level One. Note the numbering of the levels is different to the labelling of the buttons in the lift, should you choose to use it. But don’t. It’s only one flight of stairs.
Enter the Department of Biological Anthropology Reception Area through the door on Level One labelled `Biological Anthropology Reception’.
Pass through the Department of Biological Anthropology reception area.
Go through the blue door at the end of the Biological Anthropology reception area and turn right.
Go through the blue door at the end of the corridor
You will find yourself on the Fire Escape staircase.
Ascend the staircase.
When the large mechanism shown in the photograph below is just above your head, stop ascending and come off the staircase, turning left then right to enter a corridor sealed by a white fire door.
Pass through the white firedoor.
The blue door at the top of the red and green steps is the Computer Officers’ office. We’re probably out.
