Introduction

This document provides advice for users of Microsoft Powerpoint and other presentation packages. You can always obtain the latest version of this document from: http://www.arch.cam.ac.uk/comp/ac082/

Get yourself a copy of The Cognitive Style of PowerPoint by Edward Tufte (reprinted in Beautiful evidence, available in the Haddon Library at Classmark: KEN P [tuf]).

The Powerpoint FAQ is available here.

Data projectors are low resolution devices and the images you use in a presentation should be resampled appropriately. This will prevent the file size growing unreasonably and reduce the possibility of delay when you click Next. See a Computer Officer for more details.

Should you need to import multiple images, one per slide, into Powerpoint see Appendix A of Sistrom and Honeyman-Buck, 2004.
