The following options are available to staff and students in the Division of Archaeology and McDonald Institute who wish to publish web pages:

  1. Apply for an account on www.arch.cam.ac.uk. This is a traditional web server: You can upload prepared files (HTML, graphics, etc.) using SFTP or you can login via SSH and prepare HTML files using a text-editor such as vi or pico. You can find instructions for using SSH and SFTP on this website. You can obtain training in the preparation of HTML from the University Computing Service.
  2. You can use your PWF file space as a web site: Instructions are provided here.
  3. You can apply for an account on blogs.arch.cam.ac.uk. This uses the Wordpress blogging software to provide a powerful but user-friendly interface for creating web pages and/or a blog. Send email to David Redhouse to request an account. You will require a Raven identifier and password.
